Book description
Building Olive is the true story of how a personal caregiving journey became a community movement. As an only child raising a family in the United States while supporting aging parents in Canada, I experienced firsthand the challenges, uncertainty, and emotional weight that millions of caregivers carry every day. The lessons my parents taught me about dignity, connection, and what truly matters later in life became the foundation for something much larger than I ever imagined.
What began as a deeply personal experience eventually grew into Olive Community Services, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring no senior ages in isolation and every older adult has opportunities to live, learn, and thrive.
My writing is inspired by the people, experiences, and communities that have shaped my life. Through storytelling, I hope to spark conversations, share lessons learned, and inspire others to lead with purpose, compassion, and courage.
